Installation Hardware Kit
Getting ready to install your plantation shutters? Our guide covers everything included in your hardware kit, from slat pins to frame fixings, so you have everything you need before you start.
Hardware Box Contents – Hardwood Shutters
Hoffman key
These will often be pre-inserted into the frame sides. |
Black frame screws
This depth is ideal for most installations. If you have ordered a large build out and will be fixing as an outside mount, you may want to source a deeper screw or countersink the hole further. These screws are 4.2 x 60mm. |
Hinge fixing screws
These will be used at the very end of installation to fix the hinge placement once happy with how the panels hang. |
Hinge pin
To attach the panels to the frame, the hinge pin is dropped in to connect the frame hinge part to the panel hinge part. |
Panel feet
These can be placed under the bottom of the panel to lift the panel and give an even light gap. |
Hinge packer
These can be placed underneath the hinges if you would like to give them a bit of a lift. |
Tension Hole Caps
We recommend leaving the tension holes exposed for easy access. However, these caps are provided in case you would prefer to cover them. |
Touch-up Paint
Can be used to touch up any scratches or marks. |
L Striker Plate
For 3 sided (Left, Right, Top) frame orders. This can be fixed to the window sill for the panels to close against. |
Slat Pin - Telescopic
This pin is spring loaded to insert the slat into the panel. For all tilt rods. |
Slat Pin - Long
This is the longer fixed pin for inserting the slat into the panel. For central and clearview tilt rods. |
Slat Pin - Hidden Tilt
This will be inserted on the side of the slat that interacts with the hidden tilt rod mechanism. |
Spare Slats
You will receive a spare slat per shutter in your order. We recommend you keep this in a safe place in case you ever need it. |
Light Block
If you selected a 3 sided frame, you will receive a 20x20mm light block. This can be installed on your window sill for the panels to close against and block light. |
