Light control and reduction
Living room shutters provide full flexibility when it comes to light control. If you want to let the maximum amount of light in, any of our shutters can be opened up/folded back to let all the light shine through.
To adjust the light levels as and when you wish, simply tilt the slats. This can help for light bouncing off the TV, for privacy from the street, and to create a cosy atmosphere in your living room.
Full height shutters
and Tier-on-tier shutters
provide full coverage for your windows and therefore offer great light reduction. These are the ideal styles for your living room. Tier on Tier shutters also give you the added benefit of opening and closing the top panels separately, allowing the function of two shutter styles in one!
Most living rooms are on street level and therefore a key factor in choosing the right window dressing is privacy. Each of our living room shutter ranges will provide you with this welcome solitude; simply keep the panels and slats closed to ensure no prying eyes!
Our Café style shutters
deliver this much-needed privacy by covering the lower half of your windows. Having the top half uncovered, and therefore allowing the light in at all times, is a major bonus.
Unlike other window dressings, living room shutters add a layer of insulation to your living room. They’re all crafted from solid hardwood, which, unlike fabrics, keep the warmth in and the cold out.
This insulation can contribute to lower fuel bills and creates a warm and cosy environment in your living room.
Whether you’re reading, watching TV, or entertaining; the last thing you need is intrusive noise from outside. Whilst living room shutters insulate to keep in the warmth, they also provide an effective layer of soundproofing. In a loud and hectic world, this insulation can help turn your living room into the haven you desire. You won’t get this added benefit from any other window dressing.
A classic design
Living rooms endure many changes over the years. Painting, moving of furniture; it’s a room that lends itself well to decorating and is usually the first room in a house to be renovated. Plantation shutters are a timeless style that will complement any interior design or transformations your living room goes through.
Our favourite design combinations are tier on tier shutters for large period bay windows, Café style shutters for kitchens and full height shutters for everywhere else!
